Alternative Metals

There are a few different types of alternative metals used for wedding bands such as titanium, tungsten carbide, cobalt, and ceramic wedding rings. These metals are not precious. Titanium

TITANIUM, Named for the Titans, sons of the Greek gods, Titanium, when pure, is a lustrous, grayish white metal. It has a low density, good strength, is easily fabricated, and has excellent corrosion resistance. It is mainly used in jewelry as an accent metal in Men's jewelry. Cobalt

COBALT, is an alternative metal, white color, harder than platinum, and similar to platinum appearance. Cobalt is not a precious metal. It is more scratch resistant than titanium and other precious metals. It can be sized slightly without cutting into the ring. The weights of cobalt rings are very similar to the weight of gold rings. This will be the second ring Ive purchased for my husband. He had the last one stolen from him. The 2 rings Ive purchased were quality bands and I loved the variety weddingbands display. You cant beat the price when it comes to the engraving and sizing. I just purchased myself a diamond band from Jareds had to pay extra for sizing and engraving. Over $100 for both. Im a nurse and cant wear my diamond wedding band because of the possibility of scratching or cutting patients with it. My husband and I picked out a nice simple band from here and had our wedding date engraved on it. It was here in less than a week fits perfectly and it is SO beautiful! We ordered new wedding bands for our 20th anniversary. We absolutely LOVE them! They are everything they were advertised to be. My fiance and I ordered rings locally Houston in advance of our wedding. 5 days before the wedding the jeweler called to say she had forgotten to contact us and tell us the rings were not available until Dec. 23.
